While the TERA closed beta test number 1 was exciting at launch, I am looking forward to the second closed beta even more than I was for the first.
I cannot lie by saying several major changes are being made, though there may be some in process, but in the closed beta 1 there was no PvP. With the new beta coming February 24-26, PvP servers will be implemented for sure, and I am sure that battlegrounds will be as well!
The moment of true is upon us: open world PvP, to be or not to be? Honestly, if there is no open world PvP I will be refunding my money for TERA. There is for several reasons. TERA may seem like an entirely new type of MMO, and don’t get me wrong as part of it is, but it still feels like a level down from the notorious World of Warcraft. The one thing that sticks out is its true action combat in which you have to aim to attack. The thing I am looking forward to most is the PvP of this game, which will determine to outcome of whether or not thousands of others like myself will play it at the launch on May 1.
Other than this I do not believe there are any other known major changes to the game, though fixed and known issues for the next beta can be viewed here. I am assuming since En Masse has already released the next patch that there will be no more changes being made as far as we know for closed beta 2. Closed beta 3 will follow up two weeks later.
My apologies for no gameplay videos on the first beta. My upload speed is useless and it takes me hours on end for one 30 seconds video; yes I could only get 30 second videos. There are plenty of YouTube of the North American gameplay if you wish to view them.
I will be sure to let you know how things go with the PvP in the next week or two.
